Imperial Racing Green is the battery powered race car developed by Imperial College London for the IMechE Formula Student Competition.
Formula Student rules dictate that the battery must be removed from the car whilst it is being charged. Therefore, as part of a team of four Mechanical Engineers, I fabricated a manual forklift that could remove, store and transport the high voltage battery from the vehicle.
Features include a dead man's brake system, hand powered forklift and 360 degree rotating front wheels.
For 2014-15, I was responsible for design and implementation of the braking system, harness and headrest.
