Singular is the speculative future for reconstructive makeup and personal identitiy.
A collaboration with Imperial College's Materials Sciences laboratories provided a deeper understanding of the current state of nanomaterials research and what will be achievable with future applications.
Inspired by scientific research that demonstrates nano crystals can undergo a colour changing redox reaction when exposed to specific wavelengths of UV light; Singular is a second skin impregnated with crystals that changes the appearance of the wearer. The nanocrystals change from clear to red, green or blue dependent on the wavelength of UV light they are exposed to, enabling any colour on any part of the face.
Applications of this technology could include non-intrusive facial reconstruction, consumer beauty products and personalisation of identity.
